PE and Sports Premium

PE and Sports Premium - what is it?

The government is providing funding of £150 million per annum to provide new and substantial primary school sport funding. The funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary school Head Teachers to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children.

The funding enables all of the children to have sports coaching and for the school to be involved in inter-house and inter-school tournaments and to play matches with other schools. The children have been involved in activity trips. We have purchased sports equipment over time for use in lessons, at sports clubs, and in extended school provision.  We have also used the funding to support our Mind Up initiative so that each class has a selection of calming toys. We believe that the funding has enabled us to promote sport, healthy living, and healthy minds which in turn help attainment.

All schools have to spend the sports funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but there is the freedom to choose how we do this.

2022-2023

For the academic year 2022-2023 we will receive £17,490 in Sports funding. The full breakdown of how we have spent the previous year's funding is itemised below.
