At St. Faiths we use the additional funding provided through the PE and Sports Premium to meet then Department of Education’s stated expectation that we will make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE and sport that we offer.
The amount allocated for 2024/25 is £17440
We will ensure that we continue our outstanding provision of PE and sport and further build upon our strong infrastructure and provision to ensure that the children receive a wealth of sporting opportunities and high-quality physical education.
We ensure that we measure our achievement against the 5 key indicators of the effective use of the premium:
increasing confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sporting activities
increasing engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity and sporting activities
raising the profile of PE and sport across the school, to support whole school improvement
offer a broader and more equal experience of a range of sports and physical activities to all pupils
increasing participation in competitive sport
At St Faith’s PE and sports are high-profile. This is illustrated by:
the amount of sports that the children do – 2 lessons/week
the quality of the provision – we have invested in a sports coach who teaches each class/every week. (The other lesson is taught by teachers)
the range of sports that pupils can engage in out of school by taking part in clubs and/or matches. Some of these opportunities are paid for by parents/carers, some receive contributions and some are free.
This is enhanced through the use of the PE and sports premium as follows:
