Vision for Computing
The aim of computing at St Faith’s is to equip our children with the tools required to be resilient, independent learners and to develop the skills needed in an ever-increasing technological world. It is our intention to enable opportunities for our children to find, explore, exchange and present information digitally and focus on developing their ability to use information in a discriminating and effective way.
In addition, we aim to equip children with skills in computational thinking which strongly connects with mathematics, science and design & technology, fostering the ability to problem solve, design and adapt in different contexts. All of our aims for computing are interwoven with teaching the children how to use technology responsibly and safely so they understand the risks and boundaries, particularly regarding online communication.
The overall purpose is for our learners to obtain these key skills and become competent and confident learners who can safely utilise the expanding technology available in creative ways, now and in the future.
