Vision for History
A people without the knowledge of their past history, origin and culture is like a tree without roots.
Marcus Garvey
History is who we are and why we are the way we are.
David McCullough
The aim of our history curriculum is to meet the expectations of the National Curriculum 2014. The St Faith’s history curriculum is also unique in providing children with coherent knowledge and understanding of British and world history with the aim of creating an ongoing curiosity about the chronology and characteristics of things that have gone before. They will learn the transferable skills of investigating, evaluating and forming conclusions based on what they see, hear and experience. They will also gain a real and practical understanding of the different human and community experiences of history in order to develop their own awareness of an individual’s role in the past, present and future.
